The two things the brief requires
- The disclosure, inside the content. "Paid partnership" or "ad" in the caption or the video itself, not in a hashtag pile and not on your profile.
- The commercial content setting, on. TikTok's own tool marks the post as promotional. A paid clip posted without it is a denial with that reason, and a fire for the campaign if it is found later.
What TikTok pays, and what it does not
The Creator Rewards Program pays creators from TikTok's own money for original videos of a minute or more, and it excludes paid and sponsored content. As of 2026 it needs 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last 30 days, and an account of an adult in an eligible country, as reported by program guides. So a campaign clip earns from the campaign and from nothing else. That is the same on every platform except YouTube's long-form program, and there the video has to be yours.
The feed, and the phrase "not eligible for the For You feed"
Shadowbans are real under another name. TikTok tells you in Account Status when a video is not eligible for the For You feed, and the reasons are public: unoriginal content, sexually suggestive content, and content that violates the guidelines. The version of the guidelines effective 24 September 2026 says it in plain words: reused or unoriginal content without creative edits is ineligible for the feed. A campaign clip that loses the feed loses its views, so the brief avoids every listed reason.
| What TikTok treats as unoriginal | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| A watermark from another platform, TikTok's own worked example | Export clean from the editor |
| Mirroring, cropping or filtering a clip to dodge duplicate detection, which TikTok bans as a bypass | Cut something new: the lead-up, the reaction, a different beat |
| Reposting another clipper's edit | Never |
| A straight re-upload of a stream segment with no edit | Add the hook, the cut, captions or commentary. The edit is the licence to distribute, and RUCKUS denies the unedited version before the feed does |
Originality is judged at the account level. An account full of reposts loses the feed for everything, including the good clips.
Length and format
A reaction beat runs ten to thirty seconds. Captions burned in, because most viewers watch without sound. Nine by sixteen, straight from the editor, with the disclosure visible.
FAQ
Does the commercial content setting cut my reach?
A little, on some posts. A paid clip found without it costs the whole clip and can cost the campaign, which is why the setting is a rule, not a preference.
Can I post the same clip on TikTok and elsewhere?
Yes, from a clean export. A TikTok watermark on the Reels copy is the classic mistake in the other direction.
Where does the not-affiliated line go?
In the caption, wherever GTA appears: "Not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive."
